'Although most of my fellow interns usually start the day by getting out of bed and turning on their laptop at home, I'm lucky enough to start with a short bike ride to the office in Groningen. As an intern at the Corporate Bank, the nightly emails and the morning news demand my first attention. Without much hesitation, I immediately dive into my assignments, which usually go hand in hand with each other. Setting the right priorities and communicating effectively with my colleagues and supervisors are the keys to success. Right after lunch, I attend client meetings and help senior bankers keep track of what has been discussed. I use the remaining time to get to know new people and to lobby for more tasks and assignments. In this way I get the most out of my internship.'
