Our Finance & Risk department naturally ensures that our figures are in order and available. We report increasingly integrated and explain the story behind these figures within the context of everything that happens inside and around the bank. Whether we make presentations for the Supervisory Board, the annual report or reports for investors, we always ensure that the story is brought as understandable as possible.
Estimating financial risks
Assessing financial risks in a rapidly changing world and in economically challenging times is becoming increasingly dynamic, complex and important. That is why ABN AMRO has opted for an integrated risk management strategy. All employees of the bank must have a good understanding of the risks involved in their areas of work, and act on it unconditionally every day. In addition to top sport, risk management is therefore also a team sport. You not only work with colleagues from Risk Management, but with employees from across the entire bank.
Strategic decisions
The bank's management uses our information to make strategic decisions. For example, during investment processes we work together with our colleagues providing them with the right analysis and context to substantiate choices. We work on challenging issues in which numbers determine a large part of the answer and where our contribution is of great value. Certainly not routine work, because the banks field of work is complicated, and the valuation of financial assets and liabilities is quite a brain teaser. Add to that the impact of continuously changing laws and regulations and you probably understand: our field of work is extremely complex.
